Certificate of Compliance — common questions
When do I need a Certificate of Compliance?
Most commonly when selling or transferring a property, after alterations to the electrical installation, or when an insurer or landlord requires a current certificate.
How long is a CoC valid?
A CoC reflects the installation at the date of issue. A new certificate is generally needed on transfer, or where work has been done since the last one was issued.
What if the installation does not comply?
We give you a written list of the issues and a quotation. Once the remedial work is done and the installation passes, the certificate is issued.
Can you certify work done by someone else?
We can only certify an installation we have inspected and tested, and that meets the standard. Any faults must be corrected first.
